Job Summary

Job Title: HSE SpecialistLocation: Cambridge ON On-siteJob Type: Full-timeCompensation: $80000 - $90000/yearBenefits:RRSP health/dental/vision package reimbursement for tuition and professional dues paid vacation personal days and sick daysThe Position:Reporting to the HSE Manager North America the HSE Specialist is responsible for the implementation and execution of all H&S related programs and initiatives for Nuclear and Automation Projects. They will provide subject-matter expertise and support to maintain the Eclipse HSE program and ensure compliance with legislated requirements internal standards and collaborate on delivery of new policies and programs. The HSE Specialist will have responsibilities in scope of all Eclipse HSE functions including training inspections/auditing program development and implementation to deliver our Eclipse Vision and Entrepreneurial Youll Be Doing:Enable the success of incident and injury prevention by implementation and maintenance of the Eclipse North America Health Safety and Environmental management systemSupport HSE Programs for Risk Assessments Incident Investigations Workplace Inspections Corrective and Preventive Actions Control of Hazardous Energy Electrical Safety Industrial Hygiene PPE Ergonomics Material Handling WHMIS Emergency Preparedness and the Job Hazard Analysis process for Automation and Nuclear Projects and department activitiesConduct and support the completion of HSE risk assessments to identify significant HSE risks and recommended controlsCoordinate Incident Reporting and Investigation process. Review submitted reports to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actionsAdvise the Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) and coordinate program requirements including monthly Workplace Inspections Meetings and training for committee and facilitate Workplace Inspections for Health and Safety Environment Fire/Life Safety and assign actions for HSE Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive HSE attainment of WSIB Excellence Program current knowledge of local HSE legislation and applicable standardsSupport Workplace Accommodation and Return to Work Program for injured workersDeliver HSE Orientations to new employees and contractorsDeliver and coordinate HSE training courses in accordance with HSE Training matrix and maintain records for Contractor Management program and audit Contractor/Subcontractor HSE Emergency Preparedness programs including Evacuations Medical Response and Spill Response health and safety statistics and reporting for performance metricsLeadership:Promote a proactive Safety Culture and positive relations with all departments and stakeholdersCollaborate and build supportive relationships with stakeholders in HR Operations Facilities and Project Execution:Requires professional written and verbal communications and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a team environment to actively lead project and department communications and meetingsRequires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends or travel as requiredEnsure scheduled milestones are met. Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not metAdhere to the Eclipse Automation Project Operating PolicyEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Code of ConductFoster the development of culture reflective of the core values of Eclipse AutomationTravel:Expectation of travel to other locations is less than 10% of time (may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs)What Were Looking For:Has successfully completed a university degree and a college diploma/certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or related fieldsCRSP Designation an asset5-8 years of experience in a Health and Safety role in a manufacturing settingExperienced in conducting hazard assessments and incident investigationsExperienced in implementing and maintaining HSE ProgramsExperienced in coordinating and delivering Health Safety and Environmental training coursesExperienced in auditing and developing H&S and Environmental Management System programsExperienced in developing and mentoring colleagues competencies and skills in H&S and related departmentsExperience in collaborating with stakeholders in HR Operations and Project ManagementIntermediate knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and standardsAbility to perform risk assessments for machine safety material handling equipment and ergonomicsStrong organizational skills and willingness to develop constructive relationships with management project and departmental team membersAbility to produce promotional training materials communications videos or social media for promotion of Health and Safety is an We Offer:Reimbursement for tuition and professional duesThree weeks of vacation and paid vacation (to start)RRSP matching planFree snack programWhy Join Us:Here at Eclipse Automation creation and innovation are at our core and our culture reflects that.
