Job Summary

Quality Lab Technician Assistant

Indianapolis Compounds

This is a non-union hourly position with occasional overtime.

Hours: Training will be M-F from 7a-3p for 4-6 weeks (training schedule is flexible). Upon completion of training you will work 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule:

  • Week 1: work M/T off W/Th work F/Sa/Su.
  • Week 2: off M/T work W/Th off F/Sa/Su.

Pay: $28/hr $3/hr shift premium for the 7pm 7am shift.

Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

This position reports to the Quality Manager. The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role involves conducting inspections performing tests and analyzing data to identify and resolve quality issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indys quality system computer literacy and a keen eye for detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with operators to influence their buy-in on QA initiatives.
  • Perform daily inspections on NCPs Quality Hold and Retain System.
  • Develop training programs/procedures and implement new QA strategies.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials in-process products and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain and calibrate QA equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze quality data and generate reports to track trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment to perform quality checks and record data accurately.
  • Identify and document any deviations from quality standards and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Assist as necessary to assure QA metrics completion and improvement.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Assist Quality team in identifying problems root causes and implementing solutions to process.
  • Support EHS plant objectives as necessary.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously covering a wide range of various applications.
  • True believer in 6S and QA Labs Housekeeping.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality testing protocol for current position.
  • Strong computer literacy in Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Competency in SAP as required in current position.
  • Good understanding of fundamental math concepts (rounding unit conversions basic algebra and able to use online tools to solve problems).
