The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire vascular neurologists to join our Comprehensive Stroke Center at Harborview Medical Center and our Stroke Program supporting patient care across the Pacific Northwest. Successful applicants will join an outstanding dedicated and large group of vascular neurologists neuroendovascular specialists (from neurosurgery radiology and neurology) Neurocritical Care and Emergency Medicine teams. Your responsibilities will include active participation in direct patient care with a range of practice options that could include inpatient service call and clinic. We encourage participation in research with multiple basic science and clinical study options. Faculty interact with trainees from medical students to fellows and contribute directly to the education of our four Stroke fellows each addition to care in the Seattle region we provide stroke care to the geography of the WWAMI (Washington Wyoming Alaska Montana and Idaho) offering unprecedented scope opportunity and impact to our faculty. This is a full-time appointment and is Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding). The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience.
Assistant Professors areeligible for multi-yearappointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $20215 - $22917 per month ($242580 to $275004 per year) commensurate with experience discipline and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Associate and Full Professorsholdindefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for the Associate Professor title will be $22602 - $25057 ($271224 to $300684 per year) and the base salary range for the Professor title will be $25344 - $28504 per month ($304128 to $342048 per year) commensurate with experience discipline and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Our salaries are benchmarked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1 2026.
Requirements include:
- M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent degree eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology (or eligibility to sit for the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialities accrediation).
- In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
