Working 36.5 hours per week (hybrid working)

Birminghams SEND and Inclusion services (part of the Children and Families Directorate) is continuing on our improvement journey as part of the councils long-term commitment to children and young people to improve their lives and support their families. We are looking for outstanding people to join us and deliver meaningful impact in this priority area.

As the SEND Training Officer you will report directly to the Quality and Improvement Service Manager within the SENAR team:

You will be required to:

  • Build confidence of the SENAR service by ensuring that it meets both statutory obligations and the needs of children/young people and families through high quality practice.
  • Develop and deliver high quality training ensuring that local teams deliver positive impact for children young people and families.
  • Effectively influence colleagues in the SENAR service to improve how they practice.
  • Provide clear guidance and support for internal and external colleagues using your own experience and knowledge to deliver real change and tangible improvements to service delivery that result in positive impact for children young people and families.

Your proven impact in professional practice and service delivery for children young people and families will form the basis of your credibility in this role.

You will be used to working to deadlines and be adept at managing a number of different priorities simultaneously. You will thrive in a role that requires you to influence all stakeholders to deliver change and improvements that make a positive difference to the lives of children young people and families.
