Job Summary

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Western Cape

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with a solid foundation in mechanical design pressure equipment and 3D modelling who thrives in a collaborative project-driven environment.

Minimum Requirements

BTech or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Strong academic performance in Strength of Materials Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical draughting of pressure vessels piping systems and structural equipment
Working knowledge of Autodesk Vault Professional and Plant 3D (advantageous)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook and Teams)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical design calculations site inspections measurements and technical assessments
Produce accurate detailed mechanical drawings and models based on engineering inputs sketches and site data
Develop and check 3D models and design details using Inventor ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
Collaborate closely with Engineering Sales Contracts Manufacturing Field Services and Spares teams to support project execution
Maintain apply and continuously improve internal draughting and design standards
Ensure all drawings and documentation meet company client and industry requirements
