STACK recently launched the Women in Data Centers program: Apprentice Critical Operations Technician (ACOT). Two of our goals are to attract recruit and retain more women into the data center industry and to welcome all prospective talent with little to no experience. We will ensure that new employees have the necessary training guidance and tools necessary to be successful. Although this posting is specifically for our Santa Teresa NM location positions will be available at any US STACK data center.

THE POSITION:

Under the supervision of STACK Critical Operations Team Members the Apprentice Critical Operations Technician (ACOT) role includes:

Mechanical responsibilities will include working on central plant chilled water systems various HVAC systems such as roof top units CRAC/CRAH units humidification systems fan wall systems air-cooled chillers and Liquid to Chip Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs).

Electrical responsibilities will include working on electrical/critical power distribution from the Utility and Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer environment which may include Power Distribution Units (PDUs) Remote Power Panels (RPPs) and overhead busways.

Fire Life Safety responsibilities will include monitoring wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems as well as their associated detection devices.

THEDETAILS:

Locations: Santa Teresa NM or any US STACK data center

Travel: Less than 5%.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Must pass a comprehensive background and drug screening.

MUST-HAVEQUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma some college or a bachelors degree

Experience working with various Microsoft Office applications and other database housing software

Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work well in stressful situations.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk sit use hands to handle reach or feel objects climb stairs balance stoop or kneel talk see at close range and hear for extended periods of time

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including weekends late nights holidays and on-call support.

Must be comfortable working in a high stress fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
