Our client is seeking an experienced Quality & Technical Manager (Fruit) to join the Kirkwood facility
Responsible for monitoring and managing all aspects of fruit quality in the operational chain from picking at the optimum time to packing and arriving in the markets
Conduct fruit quality inspections on farms and in packhouses during the season to ensure that the fruit packed is according to export and client standards.
Grower interaction and feedback on quality delivered and packed.
Grower communication on a weekly basis for picking planning.
Weekly estimates feedback for picking and packing discussed with marketing team.
Assisting growers with audits registrations and verifications orchard inspections and all other market access requirements.
Overseas client interaction on all arrivals and due diligence for specific market and supermarkets.
QC capturing claim values and marine insurance claims.
Assist with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
Assist with off season ad hoc responsibilities.
Requirements
Grade 12
Relevant 3 years tertiary qualification university degree or diploma
3-5 years experience in packhouse grower and or marketing company will be highly advantageous.
Fruit QC experience will be an advantage.
Valid drivers license
Advanced computer literacy
Willingness to travel for work
