Job Description
The assignment:
Within the Fluidics and MEMS group of our client you will work on the characterization of new optomechanical acoustic and inertial transducers fabricated in both silicon and polymer technology.
As a Measurement & Automation Engineer you will:
- Run well-established measurement methods for mechanical characterization.
- Build new setups for MEMS characterization perform measurements and process the acquired data.
- Support ongoing measurement standardization and automation efforts.
- Interact closely with the MEMS design and processing teams as well as other characterization teams.
- Write technical reports and communicate with the team and other project stakeholders.
Required knowledge and skills
- You hold a masters degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Proven handson experience with measurement setups sensors lab equipment (e.g. signal generator oscilloscope impedance analyzer laser Doppler vibrometer digital holographic microscope white light interferometer AFM ...) and hardware debugging.
- Affinity with experimental engineering: alignment calibration noise mitigation environmental control.
- Proficient in Python and MATLAB for automation instrument control and data analysis.
- Comfortable in a lab setting including careful sample handling and following safety procedures.
- General understanding of microfabrication techniques and MEMS design (e.g. COMSOL ANSYS ...) is an asset.
- Strong ownership drive and proactiveness. Structured communicator with clear reporting skills. Practical problem-solving mindset.
- A good knowledge of English is mandatory.
