Job Description

As a Junior Industrial Automation Engineer you will support the performance reliability and continuous improvement of industrial automation systems used in manufacturing and utilities at the Takeda Lessines site.

Your main technical environment will be Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 (DCS) including associated operator/SCADA functions others PLC ( Siemens TIA portal or Rocwkell) and interfaces to field instrumentation and other site systems.

You will work closely with Production Maintenance Quality and Engineering to troubleshoot issues implement changes safely and contribute to automation/OT projects in a GMP-regulated environment.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who wants to build strong foundations in DCS/PLC control alarm management industrial networking validation and lifecycle management within pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The manufacturing site of Lessines is composed of purification filling and packaging lines. Its activities is supported by utilities systems such as a power plant area.

The installation programmation configuration and support of those equipment are managed by the automation team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

The incumbent must be able to support production activities manage automation modifications or be integrated in larger projects teams.

In particular the position implies :

Support:

• Technical system support for automation

• Reduce automation issues on existing systems (improvement)

• Support investigation by providing automation expertise

• Develop and implement change on automation

• Provide support for the deployment of use case for data innovation and for AIMP

Projects:

• Prepare future manufacturing project (pre-capex) including:

  - technical study (internalized or externalized)

  - Provide automation standard / tender

  - Project plan preparation (including offer from automation/ engineering partner)

• Follow manufacturing project (capex) including:

  - provide automation expertise

  - Partner follow up (technical and documentation)

  - participation in the project execution and implementation

Strategic activities

• participate in the creation of automation standard

• Work with global automation and local IT to deploy Global automation program and ensure standard approach on all project

• Participation of automation obsolescence program

Common activities:

• Provide 24/24 7/7 off-site support

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCES:

• Master degree in Automation Electrics: (Or Bachelor degree Exp)..

First exposure (internship/graduate project/first job) to industrial automation ideally including one or more of:

• Siemens PCS 7 and/or Siemens SIMATIC environment

• PLC system (Rockwell Siemens or others)

• Instrumentation and control fundamentals (sensors/actuators calibration concepts PID basics)

• Industrial communications/network fundamentals (e.g. Industrial Ethernet PROFIBUS PROFINET OPC concepts)

• Good communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in multi-disciplinary teams

• Must have the ability to effectively participate to Engineering projects.

• Has the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work in a structured regulated environment with strong attention to documentation change control and detail.

• Problem-solving mindset hands-on approach and willingness to learn on the shop floor

• Must be comfortable with MS OFFICE Pack (Especially WORD POWERPOINT EXCEL).

• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English; French is highly valued for day-to-day collaboration in Lessines.

• Comfortable working primarily on-site in Lessines.
