What youll be doing

The Senior Consultant RCM Global Privacy Office is responsible for executing oversight activities serving as a subject matter expertise for designated regulatory requirements maintaining effective communication with Business Units and the RCM Portfolio Manager and maintaining comprehensive documentation. The accountabilities include:

regulatory monitoring and communication risk assessment and compliance escalation and deficiency management advisory coordination and relationship management effective challenge and mitigation reporting and metrics development effectiveness assessment documentation maintenance leadership and process optimization

How youll succeed

  • Privacy expertise - As the subject matter expert in privacy you will provide privacy expertise and guidance to lines of businesses. You will be responsible for conducting privacy impact assessments for new initiatives/ revised programs assessing risk and controls and developing privacy training and tools including privacy reference resources. You will have frequent collaboration with lines of business and will develop strong relationships across the organization.

  • Regulatory compliance - Conduct reviews of proposed or new privacy legislation changes where CIBC operates including risks assessing new regulations and ensuring compliance with the Banks Regulatory Compliance Management of privacy regulations.

  • Program review - Participate in the ongoing review of monitoring and oversight mechanisms to ensure privacy compliance to Confidentiality and Privacy. You will participate in reviewing CIBCs privacy program and revising processes and policies to build a strong privacy program. You will gather write organize and interpret data/information to formulate appropriate conclusions and prepare communications and reports for senior members of the organization.

  • You can demonstrate experience in managing regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to a Bank and experience in communicating regulatory changes and developing and implementing policies guidelines or procedures to meet regulatory obligations. Its an asset if you have minimum five years of working experience in compliance risk management legal audit or other governance group in the financial services industry.

  • You are driven by collective success. You know that collaboration with the businesses and cross functional groups is critical to the success of managing privacy risk and finding the right solutions for our clients and or employees. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success.

  • Delivery and Execution Assisting the team with the review of risk backed by any necessary research to provide guidance and support as they work with the Line of Business recommending steps to manage and lower privacy risk.

  • Youre a certified professional. You hold a privacy designation with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) or will acquire within the first year.
