PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 28100 - 35100 (plus London weighting) depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Womans Hour is looking for a talented Assistant Producer to craft compelling content across radio podcast and digital platforms.
Womans Hour is part of BBC Audio Topical which makes some of the BBCs most influential distinctive and best loved brands including The Archers Front Row Free Thinking and The Media Show on Radio 4 plus Outlook and The Arts Hour on the World Service.
Womans Hour is live every weekday on Radio 4 with a highlights edition on Saturday. Its a magazine programme that offers a female perspective on the world with topical conversations to inform challenge and inspire.
As well as a weekly live listenership of approx. 3 million Womans Hours innovative and excitingdigital contentplays a key roleinreachingnew audiences with social media clips attracting an average of 10 million monthly views. The Womans Hour team has recently launched two successful new podcast titles: The Womans Hour Guide to Life and SEND in the Spotlight.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Produce live items for the radio programme and for digital platforms from concept to broadcastwith confidence and skill.
- Produce compelling digital content including video shortform content and visual assets for social media.
- Collaborate with presenters editors and contributors to deliver high-quality output.
- React swiftly to the specific editorial needs of Womans Hour (e.g. topical events and issues breaking news or contemporary/ current themes).
- Uphold the BBCs editorial guidelines and ensure all content reflects the highest standards of accuracy fairness and impartiality.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience working in a live radio environment staying calm and responsive under tight deadlines.
- Strongdigital production skills including confident use of videoediting software to create engaging content for social media platforms.
- Experience usingjournalistic skills to help shape structure and develop stories with editorial support as well as sharp attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Agenuine enthusiasm for Womans Hour and an understanding of the issues and conversations that matter to its audience.
- A collaborativeteam player who thrives in a dynamic creative environment.
