Job Summary
Job Purpose
Nedbank Group Technology Risk is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Manager to provide strategic and operational risk expertise advice assistance consultancy services and general support for Strategic Execution Risk. The successful candidate will play a critical role in in-souring experts to conduct technical IT reviews on various projects such as code reviews architectural reviews security reviews and pre-implementation reviews.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the and Head of GT Risk in embedding a robust risk management culture and framework.
- Strengthen technology delivery by applying robust IT technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of modern architecture data SDLC and project management to improve solution quality reduce delivery risk and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement and influence improvement of risk management frameworks policies and procedures in alignment with Nedbank strategic objectives and regulatory requirements and that of the broader Nedbank organisation.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to embed effective risk management practices and ensure consistent application of risk processes across the organisation.
- Implement the Strategic Execution Risk Management Framework by facilitating ongoing reviews including risk assessment identification analysis evaluation and reporting.
- Support business units in the mitigation of key risk exposures.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Professional Qualifications/Honours Degree
Essential Certifications
- Formal certification from relevant professional bodies where applicable
- Role Relevant Tertiary Qualification
Preferred Certifications
- Honours/Postgraduate qualification in IT and/or IT Risk Management
Minimum Experience Level
- At least 5 years experience in risk management within the financial services sector with a strong focus on IT risk disciplines of which at least 2 years must be management of a team.
- Solid understanding of IT risk management frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in implementing risk policies procedures and controls within a complex organisational environment.
- Solid IT Technical Skills with a very good understanding of modern architecture data Systems Development Life Cycle and project management.
