This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative is an effective written and oral communicator is reliable and safety-minded and who works well with children.
Required: Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. A minimum of 2 years of high school experience. Have previous experience with face-to-face program delivery. Have an understanding of childrens developmental skills and abilities. Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Maintain DCFS Mandated reporter training or obtain certification training within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:5-day Monday-Friday availability from 8am-3:15pm with scheduled after camp shifts as needed (until 6pm).

Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation and the Recreation Supervisor of Day Camps the Day Camp Counselor shall complete all assigned duties to the best of their abilities offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.
