Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Counselor or Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals couples or groups. The primary objective is to help clients identify understand and resolve personal social and psychological challenges through evidence-based practices. This role involves maintaining a consistent caseload and fostering a safe non-judgmental environment for healing and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive intake interviews and clinical assessments to determine client needs and mental health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with clear measurable goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate individual family or group therapy sessions using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Psychodynamic Therapy or Solution-Focused Therapy.
  • Perform ongoing clinical evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
  • Identify and manage crisis situations including conducting suicide risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation including progress notes discharge summaries and treatment plan updates.
  • Liaise with external healthcare providers social services and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Ensure all clinical practices adhere to ethical guidelines state laws and HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure to practice (e.g. LPC LMHC LMFT or equivalent). Associate-level licensees under supervision may be considered depending on experience.
  • Proven experience in providing direct clinical services to a diverse population.
  • Strong knowledge of the DSM-5-TR and various psychological assessment tools.
  • Exceptional active listening empathy and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Work Environment
This position is typically based in a private practice community health center or residential facility. It requires the emotional resilience to manage secondary trauma and the ability to maintain professional boundaries in a clinical setting.
