IMC is currently looking to hireMental Health Technicians MHTfor IMC Behavioral Health on a PRN basis. While supporting the nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic environment the MHT provides direct care and support to individuals with mental health MHT mayparticipate in: patient transportation multi-disciplinary team conferencescase management discharge planning and placement intake and referral as wellas other duties. The MHT will maintain a safe and professional standard of patient care in accordance w/ Joint Commission Federal and State regulations and IMCs policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or equivalent with CNA certification or at least six months of prior bedside direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting
- Mental Health Technician Certification preferred MHTC CMHT NCPT
PRINCIPAL TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates and documents patient observation and date effectively in patient record
- Customizes patient care activities to the needs of the patient age specific disability cultural sensitivity needs etc...
- Documents significant occurrences observed behavior vital signs nutrition and patient observation findings on assigned patients
- Inventory the patients belongings as well as assisting patients with laundry meals mobility needs and bathroom functions
- Demonstrates the ability to employ de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed
- Assists the Nurse or Therapist with discharge planning and aftercare follow up as assigned
- Effective communication with nursing staff in a timely manner
- Complies with IMCs precaution and infection control policies
