Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Nurse Shift Manager youll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care LTC or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.
Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential which aligns with your departments operational goals and objectives.
To thrive in this role you need to be accountable and confident. Youre an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. Its also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
- Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff taking into consideration the patients condition and the employees skill level.
- Assesses monitors and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
- Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
- Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.
Job Requirements
- Current and active CA Registered Nurse Licensure
- AHA Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
- Associates Of Science Nursing
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in specialty required
- Fire Safety within 90 Days
