Job Summary
This recruitment is for an IT Professional 3 within the Office of Project Management. This position functions as a State Project Manager for and assists the Project Management Office in the day-to-day activities required to plan execute and control the Project. Incumbent will act as subject matter expert for functional development on the Project bring an understanding of the States technical standards develop infrastructure integrate systems and system support personnel.
The incumbent will identify and log issues and risks as it relates to the Project. They will also plan coordinate and monitor execution of testing with assistance from Project vendors and review deliverables related to testing. They will be responsible for facilitating and running defect review and all testing meetings and completing follow ups on States activities for closure of defect and testing status reports. This position will identify and resolve issues in Test execution and planning coordinate participation of legacy technical resources in data conversions and integrations design and development.
The incumbent will assist the project team by responding to technical questions regarding legacy reporting mechanisms and providing clarifications. They will serve as Subject Matter Expert for reporting development for the Project. Finally the incumbent will co-develop reporting strategies and development standards with Project vendors. Its preferred that the incumbent will have a detailed understanding of the existing reporting landscape at the State as they will be responsible for the oversight and management of reporting solution development scope and status reporting together with Reporting Lead.
Job Duties
Conduct detailed alternative analyses and determine end-user requirements through consultation with end-users technicians vendors management and others.
Maintain documentation related to the assigned IT specializations architecture operations and other records of work activities as required.
Maintain current knowledge of technological trends and advancements in the IT field as well as security management practices laws policies and ethics.
Participate in recommending and justifying resource allocations and expenditure decisions tracking and recording expenditures preparing purchase requests and writing technical requirements for grant proposals.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Under general direction incumbents perform advanced journey level duties and may train supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or serve as a project leader as assigned. Incumbents may function as a unit leader to include directing the activities of a branch IT support unit overseeing projects of limited scope and coordinating activities with other work groups. This is a supervisory level for Computer Operations and the journey level for Information Security positions.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in computer science management information systems or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations systems administration network administration database administration applications analysis and development and/or information security one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
