Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure maintain and upgrade database platforms across development test and production environments
- Monitor database performance and proactively tune queries indexes and storage to optimize efficiency
- Implement and manage backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability
- Enforce database security controls access management and compliance with organizational policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues outages and data integrity problems
- Support application deployments schema changes and data migrations
- Develop and maintain database documentation standards and operating procedures
- Collaborate with infrastructure cybersecurity and application teams to support system lifecycle activities

Qualifications:
Required:
- Security Clearance:Ability to obtain a TS
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience administering relational databases (e.g. Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL)
- Strong knowledge of database architecture performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and high-availability configurations
- Familiarity with database security concepts role-based access and auditing
- Ability to work independently and in team-based environments supporting mission-critical systems
Desired:
- Experience supporting databases in enterprise government or regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (e.g. Azure SQL AWS RDS Oracle Cloud)
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell Bash Python or SQL)
- Knowledge of data replication clustering or failover technologies
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks or security requirements (e.g. STIGs NIST ISO)
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Oracle OCP Microsoft SQL Server AWS Database Specialty)
