Summary
The Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) maintains an active assurance and uplift program that ensures DISP members meet and maintain their security responsibilities commensurate to their DISP membership requirements.
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the operations of Willyamas DISP Cyber Security team and oversees the programs daily functions to ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met and reports to the client program manager or senior management.
The role
The DISP Cyber Security Operations Manager takes a leadership role in identifying planning and coordinating a set of related cyber assurance programs and activities in support of specific business strategies and objectives. They strategically project the demand for people and skills and proactively plan and manage the workforce supply to meet organisational needs.
- Plans directs and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement a programme from initiation to final transition into operational business-as-usual management.
- Plans schedules monitors and reports on programme-related activities. Ensures appropriate and effective governance arrangements and comprehensive reporting and communication policies are in place and followed.
- Maintains an awareness of current technical developments that may provide opportunities to the programmes.
- Ensures that programmes are managed to realise agreed business benefits within agreed timescales.
- Defines an integrated strategic workforce planning approach connecting organisational business goals to future skill needs.
- Communicates the workforce planning approach and obtains organisational commitment. Selects frameworks to be used for the organisations skills and capability inventory.
- Interprets business strategy to direct workforce demand forecasting (skills and numbers) for the organisation. Monitors the external environment in relation to supply and emerging trends.
- Influences people management policies and practices to align with workforce plans. Integrates with resourcing strategies and plans. Monitors execution of workforce plans.
- Negotiates and resolves contractual issues including failure to meet contractual obligations. Ensures that lessons learned from reviews are documented and promoted to all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate
- Demonstrated Portfolio Program and/or Project Management experience.
- Experience in Contract Management in an Australian Government context.
- Ability to provide a productive working environment that motivates employees achieves high quality outcomes and supports employee health and wellbeing.
- Understand organisational change management techniques and a proven track record of driving transformational change within the ICT or Cyber Security domains.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver executive presentations and reports.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant applied industry experience
- Defence Intelligence or Federal Government Experience is desirable
- Must be an Australian Citizen and hold an NV1 Australian Government Security Vetting (AGSVA) clearance.
