The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager Canada Warehouse Operations the Manager Spruce Grove Warehouse Operations will provide leadership and support day to day warehouse operations.
The Manager Spruce Grove Warehouse Operations will also be responsible for leading and supporting the flow of materials to and from warehouse locations. This position will manage work activities of a team of Warehouse Technicians and ensure stakeholders are aware of and following Materials Management and Warehouse Operations processes. This role is responsible for providing advanced leadership and partnership across region developing and executing safe work operations and delivering results that positively impact warehouse operations and their stakeholders.
What youll do
Provide leadership and technical support to a team of Warehouse Technicians while assuring processes documentation training and business improvement initiatives are followed
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Warehouse Operations team advising on all processes issues urgent matters and appropriately structure tasks and coordinate activities across the team
Provide on the job training to Warehouse team members and perform on-boarding of new personnel
Produce warehouse key performance reports (KPIs) (Safety Delivery Cost Quality) and warehouse productivity reports for MMLW leadership
Assure and maintain data integrity in all warehouses related transactional work
Collaborate with other Supply Chain Operations and Maintenance groups to effectively manage and optimize the order fulfillment rate
Collaborate and influence others in open dialogue and adapt own influence approach to different stakeholders in ways that address their interests or concerns
Anticipate emerging or potential conflicts among stakeholders and take steps to preempt them
Work across and through TC Energy departments as needed to achieve goals and manage relationships
Comply with all company policies and procedures and controls including but not limited to safety health confidentiality and environmental policies
Validate Cycle Counts and/or Physical Inventory Processes and reports
Determine method of shipment utilizing the companys third-party logistics providers
Examine incoming shipments for issues with quality count part number etc. and complete paperwork required for documentation
Provide guidance on heavy loading and unloading activities in warehouses storage facilities and laydown yards with Material Handling Equipment. (i.e. Cranes Forklifts)
Will be required to drive company vehicles and maintain any/all licenses in good standing
Provide guidance related to transactions in the SAP inventory system to enter new quantities and to remove inventory from stock to ensure accurate system and documentation updates
Support the warehouse operations from inventory storage space utilization safety and compliance
Demonstrate a high level of cultural leadership (safety innovation collaboration integrity and responsibility)
Participate in and complete required training to achieve a high level of understanding and competency
Assist with the implementation follow-up and monitoring of corrective actions and preventative actions to address inspection audit findings and incident investigation results; complete detailed analysis of findings to highlight trends for creation of appropriate response plans
Manage improvement initiatives through all phases facilitating cross-functional workshops to document current state analyze processes and identify value-add future state improvements to address business opportunities
Work with internal and external customers and other stakeholders to ensure that expectations are identified aligned and met
Develop and apply performance indicators that align with program performance and department objectives
Minimum Qualifications
Ten (10) years of experience in Warehouse Management specifically related to Goods Receiving/Shipping Issuing and Materials Handling and Storage
Experience working in ERP systems (SAP Maximo Microsoft Dynamics etc.)
Demonstrated front-line leadership communication and performance management abilities
Strong knowledge of materials management inventory control and logistics
Preferred Qualifications
Post secondary education and / or Supply Chain Management designation
Ability to use judgment and critical thinking skills when faced with ambiguous situations
Strong communication skills with proven capability and ability to manage multiple/conflicting priorities
Keen attention to detail creative mindset results oriented and strong organizational skills
Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Teams Outlook Power BI SharePoint Word)
Excellent strategy planning organizing and prioritizing ability; effectively uses team resources to accomplish objectives
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; demonstrates influencing ability
Takes initiative and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Self-starter and able to work under deadlines with strong time management and priority setting skills
Proven ability to lead and execute strategic business initiatives and carry out strategic planning and execution
