If youre a reliable multi-skilled maintenance technician whos comfortable with tools and a variety of repairs (carpentry drywall minor plumbing/electrical) we want you on our team. Downtown AutoGroup is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our Autoplex to keep our dealership warehouse and grounds safe and running smoothlyyear-round (including snow and seasonal work). Pay is $20 to $25/hr based on experience a drivers licence is required and occasional off-hours/Saturdays may come up.
As a key member of our Maintenance department the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring a smooth safe and well-maintained environment for all visitors clients and team members. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment is trustworthy and multi-skilled and has a passion for the automotive industry.
You will help keep our dealership and facilities running smoothly by completing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance operations assisting specialized trades where required and ensuring our spaces stay clean safe and functional. This role is pivotal in maintaining an organized and professional environment ensuring smooth operations within our dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
General Building Maintenance:
o Comfortable working with power tools saws drills power snakes etc.
o General knowledge of construction and building practices.
o Working with lumber drywall basic masonry millwork doors and trim.
o General repair or maintenance on overhead doors greasing ect.
Plumbing & Drain Maintenance:
o Small plumbing repairs faucets drains.
o Removal of detailing sludge build up and drain clearing.
Electrical & Lighting:
o Small electrical repairs breakers switches plugs light fixtures ballasts.
HVAC Support:
o Filter changes on HVAC mechanical equipment and light duty maintenance.
Trades & Vendor Support:
o Working with and assisting specialized trades we hire: e.g HVAC or Plumbers.
Grounds & Seasonal Maintenance:
o Landscaping use of lawn mowers and trimmers.
o Snow plowing and or shovelling walkways.
Warehouse & Equipment Support:
o General cleaning where required in warehouse location.
o Use of Garbage bin compactor equipment.
o Delivery of bins for pick and return above and below grade with tractor.
o Repair and assembly of basic Air-line hoses connections and reels.
Office Setup & Moves:
o Assembly and disassembly of office furniture shelving.
o Moving of office furniture and shelving.
Previous experience in a maintenance technician handyman or building maintenance role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe and professional environment for both internal and external customers.
Basic computer knowledge.
A friendly professional demeanor with a customer-first attitude.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Positive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
A valid Drivers License is a must.
Willingness on rare occasion to work on a Saturday or off regular work hours.
Use of a personal cell phone may be required with consideration for compensation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Have previous experience in the automotive industry.
Have additional education or certifications.
Own a vehicle.
