The successful candidate will assist in the planning setup and execution of geotechnical field investigations for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct asphalt and concrete coring operations
- Observe and report geotechnical conditions from borehole drilling and assess subgrade conditions
- Observe and record site conditions drainage patterns
- Support for laboratory and factual reporting teams
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards codes and health & safety regulations.
Qualifications :
- Ongoing Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Degree
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to operate handheld drilling equipment and work safely in active roadway construction sites
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork including site investigations and construction monitoring
- Understanding of geotechnical engineering principles soil mechanics and soil identification considered an asset
- G Class Drivers Licence
