The Legal & Policy Team is Snaps dedicated in-house law firm policy consultant lobbyist thought partner and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way make better decisions understand and manage risks and creatively navigate challenges both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters including privacy product IP commercial transactions corporate governance employment acquisitions litigation and policy and social impact. Were looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel to join Snap Inc.! As a member of the Legal team and working from our London office youll play a key role in Snaps commercial transactions and advise teams throughout the company globally on legal issues spanning the breadth of Snaps products and services.
What youll do:
Draft review negotiate and interpret agreements covering a range of Snaps commercial activities around the world with a focus on Snaps strategic partnerships in the telecoms AI AR hardware and adtech sectors
Analyse and advise on complex cross-border issues related to data privacy intellectual property regulatory compliance net neutrality technology and platform integrations (including SDK API and data licensing) hardware and software distribution and co-promotional partnerships
Provide tactical and strategic advice to Snap business and product leaders related to commercial transactions
Assist in creating and improving templates online terms policies and processes for Snap as we develop new products and enter new markets
Collaborate with leaders across Snap to understand and support business priorities while influencing business strategy and appropriately mitigating legal risk
Coordinate cross-functionally with colleagues from every part of the company
Handle other commercial projects at the discretion of the leads of the Snap legal commercial team
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Excellent analytical communication organisational negotiation and drafting skills
Excellent legal and business judgment critical thinking and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Ability to drive collaboration and share knowledge and expertise
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
Ability to accommodate tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly
Ability to work across multiple time zones and jurisdictions
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified practising solicitor or equivalent with excellent academic credentials
8 years of post-qualification experience practising law in-house or at a law firm
Preferred Qualifications:
6 years of experience advising on commercial technology transactions ideally with a focus on strategic partnerships in-house at an internet media telecoms or technology company
Experience working for or with companies in the telecom industry e.g. OEMs carriers mobile platforms and network solutions
Experience advising technology companies on B2C regulatory product regulatory and/or data privacy issues
