Job Summary

3-4 Months Contract with a Local Authority

Summary
  • The HR & OD Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Head of Communications HR & OD by delivering a high-quality Human Resources service across the Council. This position acts as a deputy in the absence of the Corporate Head and provides expert HR advice on complex people matters. The role involves managing HR Business Partners and ensuring the professional compliant and effective delivery of HR services including employee relations workforce planning learning and development organisational design and performance management.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Corporate Head of Communications HR & OD in managing the HR service and deputise as required.
  • Lead support and develop HR Business Partners to ensure high-quality timely and compliant HR service delivery.
  • Provide coverage for other HR Business Partners as needed to maintain continuity of service.
  • Contribute to the development implementation and monitoring of HR and OD elements of the Corporate Business Plan.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and comprehensive experience advising managers on:
    • Disciplinary grievance capability and sickness cases
    • Organisational reviews and major change programmes
    • TUPE processes
    • Recruitment equalities and HR policy
  • Educated to A-level standard.
  • Associate Diploma in HR (Level 5) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuous HR professional development through short courses.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • Basic DBS required.
  • Location: Runnymede Civic Centre Station Road Addlestone Surrey KT15 2AH United Kingdom
  • Work pattern: 5 days per week 3 days in the office.
  • Payment: Bi-weekly
