Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compound Management Technician to join our Compound Management group in Boston MA. This team plays a critical role in the local storage tracking and distribution of compounds as part of our global compound management operations. The position involves managing compound requests operating laboratory robotics and ensuring seamless integration of local and global compound management strategies. This is a temporary role with an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a growing collection of small molecules and fulfill requests for compounds in both liquid and solid formats.
- Execute compound handling methods and processes to support research activities efficiently.
- Process new samples into the archive inventory including accurate sample weighing and dissolution.
- Perform quality control checks and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate the shipment of compound orders with the logistics department.
- Communicate effectively with scientists across the Research organization regarding compound orders.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask meet deadlines under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with operating standard lab equipment such as analytical balances pipettes and centrifuges.
- Proficiency in common computer programs (e.g. MS Office) and a willingness to learn new software and hardware systems.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot software and instrumentation.
Technical Skills Required:
- Operation of standard laboratory equipment (e.g. analytical balances pipettes centrifuges).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and operate Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Life Science Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of early-stage drug discovery practices particularly in small molecule compound management.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills especially with automated equipment.
- Proficiency in data handling informatics or programming.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced highly matrixed work environment.
