Our Partnership and Strategic Overview (PSO) teamhelp communities become more resilient and adapt to climate change. We lead delivery of the Flood Risk Management Plan in partnership with other Risk Management Authorities using flood risk and coastal change evidence to plan and commission flood defence resilience and adaptation schemes. We provide data and information to communities and customers influence sustainable growth and regulate activities that may increase flood risk or environmental harm.
As a PSO Officer you will work across the following areas flexing in line with team and organisational priorities:
- Data Mapping Modelling and Information: Evidence underpins all our work. You will help lead the production of new flood risk data and support national programmes to ensure data is well managed accurate and publicly available.
- Development Planning and Regulation: Supporting the Governments growth agenda you will contribute to statutory development planning by providing timely responses to planning applications in flood risk areas. You will also support the determination of Flood Risk Activity Permits by providing local advice and guidance to the National Permitting Service.
In this varied role you will build strong knowledge of our catchments and local issues enable you to develop towards influencing how flood and coastal risks are managed. Youll receive coaching and mentoring working with and learning from experienced flood and coastal risk practitioners.
