The Deputy Clerk II performs a variety of clerical and administrative work for the assigned department. Employee is responsible for handling telephone communications with the public to answer questions and processing documents and files pertaining to department functions.
Scans and archives documents files and records as necessary.
Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing spreadsheet and/or file maintenance programs to enter store and/or retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary.
Answers phones emails and walk-in inquiries as necessary; directs customer questions to the appropriate employee as necessary.
Opens sends and distributes mail as necessary.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs specialized clerical work for the County courts system; processes files and documents which may pertain to criminal juvenile civil probate or mental health court proceedings.
Receives and processes payments for fees and fines as necessary.
Performs background searches as necessary.
Posts payments for copies court costs and fines; balances cash drawer for posted payments.
Stamps and codes various documents files and judicial orders according to established procedures; assigns various routing codes to computer files to designate intended recipient for further processing.
Balances cashiers drawers at the end of the day; verifies runs report deposits slips and updates criminal night drop inventory.
Performs other related duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Completion of some college level course work preferred.
