As Asset Management Team Leader for South Somersetyoullbe accountable for making sure our flood defences are working as effectively as patchcovers a large area from Minehead to Bridgwater on the coast and as far inland as the Dorset willbe in charge ofhundreds of tidal and fluvial assets including pumping stations sluices weirs tidal doors and a network ofriverbanksand sea walls.
This is a key role and as a motivatedleaderyoulllead a team of around 12 people and work closely with stakeholders across the area to deliver the best possible flooddefenceand environmental form part of the wider area leadership group and work closely with the field teams and biodiversityteamsamong others.
The tasks and challenges are varied including prioritising asset investment directing the maintenance and operation programme preparingforand responding to incidents and communicating and engaging with customers.
