Job Summary and Responsibilities

CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region is seeking an experienced and visionaryRegion Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide strategic leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality cost-effective healthcare across our region. This senior executive position drives clinical excellence safety and quality assurance working collaboratively to meet community needs and uphold our mission.

  • Lead and oversee clinical performance evidence-based medicine implementation and patient safety initiatives.
  • Manage physician credentialing performance and serve as a vital liaison between physicians administration and community.
  • Provide strategic counsel to market/facility CMOs and medical staff on physician matters and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes cost containment patient satisfaction and regulatory adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to develop and implement new clinical systems and elevate the standard of patient care.
  • Responsible for operational accountability budget administration staff management and strategic planning for regional clinical affairs.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in a medical or surgical specialty - does not need to be current.
  • License to practice medicine full and unrestricted.
  • Successful clinical practice augmented by five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership experience in a multi-hospital system integrated delivery network as CMO/VPMA.
  • Post graduate management degree (MBA MHA or similar) is preferred.
  • Employed physician group experience preferred.
