We are currently seeking a motivated Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprentice to join our small skilled team and complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (UEE32220).
About the Role
As an apprentice with Glacier Air you will receive structured on the job training while attending off the job studies as required. Under supervision you will gain practical experience across a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in residential and light commercial environments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Perform basic diagnostics under supervision
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Support leak detection pressure testing and system commissioning
- Maintain clean and organised work areas
- Complete job sheets service reports and customer documentation
- Follow WHS procedures and industry compliance requirements
- Attend off the job training as part of the apprenticeship
What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a genuine willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and a customer focused approach
- Reliability punctuality and the ability to follow instructions
- A positive attitude and commitment to completing a full apprenticeship
- The ability to work safely and think ahead on the job
- Basic understanding of hand tools and trade environments
- Physical capability to undertake manual handling and work in varied conditions (roofs confined spaces heat)
Essential Selection Criteria
- Current drivers licence (P plates acceptable)
- White Card
- Pre-apprenticeship in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to pass a police clearance if required
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
