Position Criteria:
- Three years of teaching experience including one (1) year of teaching experience atWaukee CSD
- Demonstrates working knowledge of standards benchmarks and objectives and articulates what students need to know understand and be able to do.
- Demonstrates implementation of the Core including infusion of 21st Century Skills and Universal Constructs to support authentic learning experiences.
- Demonstrates implementation of research-supported instructional and balanced assessment practices supporting differentiation and integration of skills and concepts.
- Demonstrates growth as a teacher leader as evidenced by evaluations and observations.
- Demonstrates understanding of key processes in a Professional Learning Community.
- Ability to provide teacher professional development in instructional skills and strategies.
- Demonstrates willingness and desire to be coached in order to continue to grow professionally.
Performance Criteria:
- Collaborates with instructional coaches administrators and others in the Curriculum Leader role to plan develop and deliver high-quality professional learning experiences for District Professional Development (and building PD when appropriate)
- Engages in the development adoption implementation and enhancement of curricular materials and resources
- Supports the development and implementation of curriculum adoptions and changes. This may include sharing work done at the district level with other members of the department in your building
- Some work may come outside of contracted hours. Stipend covers additional time and responsibilities
- Supports teacher growth and reflective practices related to core curriculum and assessment implementation. This may include onboarding of new team members in your curricular area
- Engages in continuous learning and implementation of best practices in leadership
- Connects quarterly with the Director of Teaching & Learning to set goals for your curricular area to engage in problem solving with your peers and for professional learning opportunities
- Builds connections across feeder systems to uphold our Guaranteed Curriculum
- Works with Director of Teaching & Learning when curricular ordering needs arise
- Collaborates with the district school improvement team and district administrators to implement the Iowa Core in the areas of literacy math science and social studies
