JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a Senior Manager Security and Resilience to join our evolving security function. This role is a critical part of the Liberty Global Security team and is responsible for delivering effective business-focused security and resilience controls across the organisation.
Extending beyond core BCM and DR responsibilities the role will operate at the intersection of security and resilience contributing to the design and delivery of broader security controls and risk management activities. Working in close partnership with the wider Liberty Global Security team and key third-party suppliers the role will help deliver integrated end-to-end security and resilience capabilities in an efficient effective and business-aligned manner.
The role will lead the resilience programme for Liberty Global including the development of strategy and governance models aligned to the evolving business and threat landscape. It will oversee the delivery of Business Continuity services provided by our security service provider ensuring consistent high-quality outcomes across the organisation and will work with technology and business teams to ensure appropriate disaster recovery and crisis response capabilities are in place.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop a strong understanding of LGs business goals to engage senior business leaders on information security and resilience identify areas for improvement drive risk-based decisions and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver measurable business benefits
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Liberty Global Resilience Programme ensuring alignment with legal regulatory and business requirements
- Oversee the delivery of business continuity services provided by our security service provider including business impact assessments and business continuity plan development
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify strategic resilience risks and develop proportionate mitigation plans where required
- Work closely with IT and Technology service continuity teams to identify gaps in infrastructure resilience define recovery time objectives and ensure business needs and priorities are clearly understood
- Support and enhance the Crisis Management capability for Liberty Global including preparedness response and continuous improvement activities
- Prepare and deliver resilience business continuity and disaster recovery reporting for senior stakeholders as required
- Lead the design and delivery of resilience training exercising and testing activities to validate the effectiveness of controls and standards
- Own the creation maintenance and continuous improvement of BCM and DR governance frameworks policies and supporting documentation
- Act as the primary security and resilience point of contact for senior business leadership (Director level and above) providing trusted expert advice to support the secure and resilient delivery of new initiatives and change programmes
- Facilitate and enable security and resilience support to business projects by acting as the interlock between business unit leadership and the wider Group Security team
- Apply in-depth security expertise to proactively assess review and constructively challenge existing processes driving improvements to the overall security and resilience control environment
- Work with senior business leaders to ensure information security and resilience policies and standards are effectively embedded into business processes challenging where necessary to achieve pragmatic and sustainable outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation to develop a detailed understanding of security and resilience risks and ensure effective delivery of the resilience strategy roadmap and programmes
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proven track record of successfully delivering enterprise resilience programmes including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and exercising
- Experience supporting Incident and Crisis Management capabilities within complex organisations
- Significant experience and strong knowledge of best-practice information security and resilience controls and their impact on business operations
- Highly skilled in identifying security risks and exposures and defining proportionate remedial controls and processes
- Experience supporting security review activities and the secure resilient deployment of new solutions and technologies
- Strong knowledge of cloud security and resilience controls across Azure GCP and AWS
- Ability to take a strategic enterprise-wide view considering the broader business impacts of security and resilience decisions
- Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to embed security and resilience controls aligned to business risk appetite
- Exceptional communicator with demonstrable experience delivering high-quality written materials and verbal presentations to senior audiences
- Able to work independently and with minimal supervision delivering high-quality outcomes for senior stakeholders
- Pragmatic approach to resolving complex business continuity and resilience challenges
- Excellent relationship management and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Experience of providing security and resilience advisory for technology businesses including deployment of AI solutions
- Good understanding of security and resilience frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 ISO 22301 NIST etc.)
- Good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR PCI DSS)
- Good awareness of Security Architecture and Engineering Security Operations and Security Governance Risk and Control
- Comfortable with interpreting technical requirements regulations and procedures and translating into clear messages for non-technical audiences
- Strong team player that enjoys collaborative problem solving
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)/ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
