GE Aerospace Bristol Robotic Services (BRS) is a small tightknit office located in Bristol Southwest England. We are a team of 40 talented dedicated and hardworking employees who collaborate to solve very interesting challenges in the aerospace industry. Roles and Responsibilities
Design implement and maintain production-grade software using VueJS and RESTful APIs (e.g. FastAPI).
Establish testing strategy (unit integration end-to-end performance and resilience tests).
Documenting software development processes strategies and decisions.
Implement telemetry logging to monitor health and reliability post-deployment.
Run agile ceremonies with product owners (backlog refinement sprint planning reviews) translate requirements into well-scoped increments and manage delivery risks.
Provide hands-on coaching code reviews and pair programming; elevate engineering standards (readability testability scalability operability).
As well as taking on a leadership role when it comes to individual contribution this role will also have the opportunity to lead a team as we continue to grow.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Data Science or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
Strong programming skills in VueJS and GraphQL
Proven experience building and operating production REST APIs (preferably FastAPI or similar).
Good understanding of Python and proficiency with object-oriented paradigms.
Working knowledge of C and NodeJS
Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) as well as Windows/Linux native.
Experience or a desire to lead a team of software engineers.
Desired Characteristics
Demonstrated track record leading agile teams partnering with product owners and shipping software through CI/CD to users at scale.
An interest in industrial robotics system integration and vision systems such as 3D point clouds and UVC cameras or a strong desire to learn.
Offline programming of robotic systems using software such as Siemens NX and Fanuc Roboguide.
Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment mentor others and raise engineering quality bars.
