Were searching for an experienced Lead AIT Engineer to join our team in Guilford to take ownership of spacecraft and payload Assembly Integration and Test (AIT) activities throughout the mission ground test phase. This role is central to mission success guiding hardware from initial build through full system verification and environmental testing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead AIT and EVT planning scheduling and execution for spacecraft and payload programmes.
- Work closely with Project Management AIT and Systems Engineering to deliver fully tested hardware.
- Coordinate and supervise test operators and responsible engineers.
- Produce documentation and present at internal and customer reviews.
- Support bids proposals and mission planning activities.
- Oversee unitlevel and systemlevel integration and testing.
- Manage environmental test campaigns and associated logistics.
- Develop and implement test plans and procedures aligned with system requirements.
- Act as a spacecraft operations specialist during systemlevel testing.
- Maintain engineering standards safety practices and cleanroom discipline.
- Liaise with mission teams and external customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications :
Required Skills:
- Strong handson engineering capability with experience working on flight or test hardware.
- Solid understanding of spacecraft integration testing processes and systemlevel operations.
- Ability to plan organise and manage complex technical activities and schedules.
- Clear communication skills with confidence presenting to internal teams and external customers.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel internationally when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with EGSE scripting or automated test systems.
- Experience working with RF or communications test equipment.
- Knowledge of materials and processes used in spaceflight environments.
- Background in requirement verification and validation.
- Previous experience leading test teams in fastpaced engineering environments.
- A practical adaptable mindset with a positive approach to changing project demands.
