Role Overview
The Head Coach / Senior Sports Supervisor provides senior-level oversight for all assigned sports and recreational activities within a multi-facility residential club environment. The role is responsible for operational leadership coaching quality assurance safety supervision and day-to-day coordination of Coaches Instructors and Sports Supervisors.
This position combines hands-on technical leadership with supervisory and reporting responsibility ensuring that all sports programmes are delivered safely professionally and in line with approved service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision across multiple sports and recreational activities
- Coordinate and supervise Sports Supervisors Coaches and Instructors
- Ensure consistent coaching standards discipline and service quality
- Lead daily operational planning staff deployment and activity scheduling
- Oversee safety performance across all sports activities and facilities
- Enforce health safety and environmental requirements at all times
- Liaise closely with operations management on performance incidents and improvements
- Monitor correct use storage and basic upkeep of sports equipment and facilities
- Support delivery of special events tournaments and peak-period activities
- Prepare and submit daily weekly and post-event operational reports
Serve as the first point of escalation for operational or safety-related issues
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- HND / OND or equivalent qualification in Sports Science Physical Education Recreation Management or a related discipline
- Professional coaching certification or recognised sports association membership (added advantage)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in sports recreation or structured coaching environments
- At least 3 years in a senior supervisory or head coach role
- Demonstrable experience supervising multiple coaches or instructors
- Proven experience working in a regulated safety-conscious environment

- Strong leadership and people-management capability
- Sound understanding of sports operations and facility coordination
- High safety awareness with the ability to enforce standards consistently
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Professional conduct and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Flexibility to work evenings weekends and public holidays as required
Safety & Compliance
- Prior training in safety supervision or HSE-related programmes
- Practical knowledge of safe equipment handling and activity risk control
- Ability to lead by example in safety discipline and professionalism

400000 - N450000.00
commensurate with experience certification and supervisory scope.
