Job Summary

SUMMARY:

This position as an Accountant is a full-time hybrid position out of our Baton Rouge office. The Accountant will participate in a variety of accounting and reporting endeavors including but not limited to reports for management monthly and quarterly financial reporting and cash forecasting.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelors in accounting or other related business degree required.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or other Deltek software is a plus.
  • Experience working within an engineering or professional services-based industry is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products including but not limited to: Microsoft 365 Excel Word and PowerPoint is required. Advanced knowledge in Excel with proficiency in pivot tables and various lookup functions is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll and payroll tax is preferred
  • Must be able to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Owns the preparation of month-end reconciliations and all corresponding reporting.
  • Responsible for completion of monthly closing journal entries.
  • Assist with project accounting duties including monthly client invoices and accounts receivable collections. May assist in the preparation and review of special invoices for clients.
  • Collaborates with external auditors to facilitate annual financial reviews.
  • Manage year-end functions through the support of external relationships for the preparation and filing of annual tax returns and the review of 1099 filings.
  • Responsible for the preparation and presentation of financial reports for monthly staff meetings.
  • Conducts preparation and review of vendor forms.
  • Assists with annual budgeting.
  • Develops working knowledge of the companys ERP system and related financial modules; continuously expands system proficiency to improve efficiency accuracy and reporting.
  • Aids Controller on an ad hoc basis.
  • Functions as a backup and/or support for Payroll.
  • May assist with Accounts Payable duties on an as needed basis.
