GIS Specialist

AECOMs Melbourne GIS team is looking for a motivated spatial systems professional to support a wide range of projects across the business. This role suits someone who enjoys hands on technical work problem solving and collaborating with people from different disciplines. Youll contribute to meaningful infrastructure and environmental projects while being part of a global organisation with strong local expertise.

How youll make a difference

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in GIS spatial science or a related field
• Interest or experience applying GIS in infrastructure environmental approvals ecology earth science or environmental science
• Support the use and improvement of enterprise GIS platforms and spatial databases
• Assist with field data capture tools including mobile data collection and data QA
• Provide day to day GIS support to project teams including troubleshooting and advice
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high quality fit for purpose outputs
• Ability to manage your own workload and deliver to agreed timeframes
• Comfortable working in a fast paced multidisciplinary consulting environment
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others

• Strong skills in spatial data management spatial analysis cartography and high-level use of ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap
• Experience with data conversion FME and tools like AutoCAD or Civil 3D
• Exposure to ArcGIS Online Survey123 web map publishing Python scripting and 3D visualisation tools like Leapfrog or EVS
• Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelors degree in Spatial Science Environmental Science Earth Science or similar) advantageous.
