TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join theCampus Safety and SecurityTeam on a Casual you like being part of a professional team with a focus on ensuring our people are learning and working in a safe secure environment then come and join our whanau.
The role will be responsible for supporting the universitys core function by having a focus on people and their safety and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the university environment is safe and secure.
- Provide customer-centric services for all university users.
- Maintaining a strong security for safety culture.
- Responding to and managing security incidents and emergencies.
- Completing risk assessments developing and implementing robust risk mitigation plans.
- Providing advice guidance and direction to the users of the University environments including students staff and visitors.

You will thrive in this role with a professional manner with people an ability to influence and manage conflict great communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Key Requirements:
- Outstanding people and communication skills including the ability to adjust to differentsituations.
- Ability to assess risk and develop strategies to reduce risk.
- Being a team player as well as having individual responsibilities.
- Previous security experience is desirable but not essential.
- Computer skills in Word and Microsoft.
We are looking for people who can work a 24/7 roster are reliable flexible with working hours quick learning and has a good standard of physical fitness.
