The mandate of the Group Capital Management team is to oversee the Companys global capital management policy and in partnership with other key stakeholders ensure that the company maintains its strong capital position within the industry and efficiently meets regulatory rating agency and other capital expectations. The Group Capital Management team is responsible for all Canadian capital regulatory filings as well as reporting and analysis to senior management on various aspects of capital.
As a member of the Group Capital Management team reporting to the AVP responsible for LICAT Interest Rate Risk and the LICAT System this role will lead all aspects of LICAT Interest Rate Risk including quarterly and annual reporting sensitivities and ad-hoc analyses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic team of highly engaged professionals and develop expertise in LICAT interest rate risk requirements along with an overall understanding of the LICAT guideline as well as internal capital reporting process. This role requires leveraging input from subject matter experts within Group Capital Management the business units and Group Finance Actuarial/ALM. Strong communication skills and the flexibility to adapt to evolving requirements will be key to success.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the quarterly LICAT reporting of Interest Rate Risk for company-wide assets and liabilities including the review of submissions result analysis and presentation of results to AVP leaders
Collaborate with subject matter experts within Group Capital Management and cross-functional teams such as business units GFA ALM and Corporate Development on annual deliverables and ad-hoc projects
Support the assessment and implementation of potential LICAT guideline changes
Mentor and manage an actuarial student on the team
Required Qualifications:
FSA/FCIA designation
Results-driven with strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve challenges effectively
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects ensuring timely and successful delivery
Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts and results into clear and concise communications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across diverse teams and effectively influence business partners

Salary range is expected to be between
