Pretoria Area Gauteng: Seeking enthusiastic and energetic sales-driven Agriculture Portfolio Managers in Pretoria and Bloemfontein with a passion for farming to drive agriculture asset finance growth maximize profitability and strengthen commercial farmer client relationships. Responsibilities include managing a pipeline of agriculture clients and deals conducting farm visits and financial assessments structuring financing agreements and ensuring successful transaction execution.
You need to be able to engage comfortably with commercial farmers and agriculture equipment suppliers to originate asset finance transactions for the company.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Agric/ BSc Agri / BCom degree
- Preferably grown up on a farm or have worked on a farm.
- Minimum 2 years experience in an agriculture finance sales position with a recognized agriculture finance provider
- Strong network of commercial farmer relationships and agriculture suppliers
- Ability to understand farming operations and analyse farming cashflows for reasonability and historical financial statements.
- Familiar with National Credit Act
RESPONSIBILITIES - Attending farmers days Nampo and other agriculture exhibitions to obtain new clients and equipment suppliers to source asset finance transactions.
- Build up an asset finance portfolio of direct farmer clients and ongoing relationships to secure repeat asset finance transactions.
- Onsite farm visits to undertake a farming and credit due diligence.
- Prepare credit applications for submission to Credit.
- Execution of transactions once approved obtain required security FICA etc.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients (and/ or suppliers where applicable) and deals.
- Analyse market trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and propose tailored financial solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that meet both client requirements and company objectives.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Evaluate the financial viability of proposed deals and assess their potential impact on overall profitability.
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure.
- Develop strong relationships with existing clients to uncover additional business needs and promote complementary products or services from within the company (Lending & Advisory products)
- Measure quality of leads provides to other business units within the Group of companies. Quality rather that a quantity approach required.
