As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will provide essential support to pupils with a wide range of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD SEMH difficulties speech and language challenges sensory processing issues and moderate learning difficulties. You will work 1:1 and with small groups helping pupils access the curriculum develop confidence and improve social and emotional skills.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include:
Delivering 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
Supporting small group interventions in literacy numeracy communication and emotional regulation
Helping pupils access the curriculum alongside their peers
Implementing strategies detailed in EHCPs IEPs and behaviour support plans
Assisting with emotional regulation sensory needs and social interaction
Encouraging positive behaviour independence and self-confidence
Supporting pupils during classroom activities transitions playtimes and lunchtimes
Preparing resources and visual aids to enhance learning
Observing and recording pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
Collaborating closely with class teachers SENCO and external professionals
Maintaining a calm structured and inclusive classroom environment
Supporting personal care where required with training provided
Adhering to all safeguarding and child protection procedures
The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience supporting children with SEN in school or care settings
Is patient empathetic and emotionally resilient
Understands Autism ADHD SEMH and communication needs
Can confidently implement positive behaviour strategies
Is proactive reliable and flexible
Works well in a team and communicates effectively with staff and parents
Is available for an ASAP start
Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Experience supporting EHCPs speech and language interventions sensory integration strategies or SEMH support is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate.
