About the Role

A thriving primary school in Islington is urgently seeking a skilled Intervention Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning improve confidence and achieve academic and social milestones.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions across literacy numeracy and emotional wellbeing programs ensuring each child can fully engage with the curriculum. Working alongside class teachers SENCOs and external professionals you will help implement strategies that meet individual learning and developmental needs.

  • Assist with differentiated classroom activities to ensure full participation

  • Liaise with parents external professionals and therapists to ensure consistent support

  • Attend team meetings staff training and professional development sessions


Person Specification

  • Experience supporting SEN pupils in 1:1 or small group settings

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Excellent communication empathy and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse pupil needs

  • Proactive patient and reliable

  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 TA ELSA or SEN-specific training

Desirable: experience with intervention programs such as Little Wandle 1st or Lexia.
