Job Summary
Our client a commercial bank headquartered in Sliema providing corporate banking and financial services to international clients is looking for an IT Systems & Security Officer to join their this role you will manage and optimize on-premises IT infrastructure for critical banking services with a focus on security compliance and financial systems integration.
This is an office-based role offering a salary of up to 40K depending on experience.
Kindly note that only candidates currently based in Malta can be considered for this role.
Role & Responsibilities
Oversee and secure Windows Server Active Directory Exchange and VMware environments performing patching upgrades and performance monitoring
Manage storage backups disaster recovery and critical banking systems to ensure continuous availability
Configure and support Cisco networking firewalls VPNs and remote connectivity
Implement endpoint security address vulnerabilities and enforce regulatory and internal compliance
Provide advanced IT support for complex issues
Lead infrastructure initiatives including upgrades migrations hardware refreshes and vendor management for procurement and support contracts
Partner with Risk Compliance Legal Operations and application teams; maintain documentation deliver training and ensure secure IT integration
Education Skills & Experience
Bachelor in IT or Computer Science or equivalent experience
3 years of experience in systems administration with a strong focus on onsite support
Certifications in MCSE VMware VCP Cisco CCNA CompTIA Security are a plus
Experience in the financial sector especially involving regulatory frameworks
Fluency in English at a C2/Native level both written and spoken
Knowledge of core banking systems SWIFT SEPA payments and financial IT workflows
Experience supporting financial messaging systems
Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks
Knowledge of local and international financial cybersecurity standards
Experience implementing cyber risk controls in financial environments
Expertise in Exchange on-premises Active Directory VMware Cisco networking
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam)
Familiarity with endpoint security platforms (SentinelOne)
Strong troubleshooting documentation and communication skills
