Job Summary:
Responsible for plant accounting activities with a focus on product standard costing inventory valuation and margin analysis. This role works closely with Production Sales and Finance to provide accurate cost information support month-end close and improve financial visibility across the organization. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing accounting strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across all teams within the organization.
Deliverables:
Develop maintain and analyze standard costs within the ERP System. Analyze production job cost and standard vs. actual variances. Prepare monthly cost and margin analyses. Support inventory valuation cycle counts and physical inventories. Assist in the preparation of management reports. Support new product costing and pricing analysis in coordination with Sales. Assist in developing and maintaining budget and forecast files. Assist in month end and year end close process and annual
audits.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate with Sales and Operations on the development of new products and related costing as well as targeted sales pricing
- Update maintain and analyze standard costs within ERP system
- Analyze variances related to production job costing and standard versus actual costs
- Weekly reporting of operational analytics including labor and overhead absorption
- Support monthly inventory valuation cycle counts and physical inventories
- Prepare monthly cost and margin analyses
- Partner with operations and production to improve cost controls and efficiencies
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as needed
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Support audits and provide documentation when required
- Assist with customer setup credit reviews and cash application as needed
- Assist with resolving customer payment discrepancies in coordination with Sales & Finance
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies
Education and Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in accounting or finance along with 2 years of appropriate professional experience or equivalent education / experience
- Must have strong MS Excel skills and experience modeling financial statements
- Able to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment
- Able to meet tight deadlines and follow up on commitments
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate to a diverse audience
- Solid decision-making skills and ability to exercise independent judgment
- Experience with or aptitude to learn ERP systems PowerBI and similar reporting tools
