About the Role:
The Aged Care Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Aged Care team to develop and implement strategies aligned with the organisations strategic goals and objectives. The Aged Care Manager will also ensure regulatory compliance develop and implement risk management plans and oversee the implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement in service delivery
The key objectives of the role include:
- Provide overall direction and leadership to the Aged Care team to deliver strategic and operational objectives and ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Manage the operations and delivery of all relevant services in a culturally appropriate manner to ensure improved health outcomes for clients and the community and meet funded program outlines.
- Achieve and maintain relevant accreditations.
- Assist in the identification and research of opportunities to ensure stable sustainable and positive growth of Aged Care and the Community.
- Utilise the existing building and facilities to grow and improve programs for the Community.
- Build relationships and networks with funding bodies government the Community and other external stakeholders to ensure support and recognition of Biripi.
- Design implement monitor and evaluate programs and activities that promote the individual and collective health and wellbeing of the Aboriginal community.
- Provide leadership to ensure that staff capability is developed to each team members fill potential to assist in achieving the organisation strategic objectives.
- Implement an Indigenous succession plan for all non-identified positions.
- Work closely with corporate services to ensure staff KPIs are in line with funding agreements and all human resource matters are effectively managed.
- Maintain compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards framework including ensuring related policies and procedures are updated and maintained.
- Provide information and reporting as required to the Biripi Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Ensure all employees comply with relevant WHS legislation and that any issues are identified and resolved appropriately.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Service Nursing Health Administration or related discipline
- Extensive experience in managing Aged Care and/or community programs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation regulation and other statutory requirements.
- Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgetary requirements and other aspects of resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership communication interpersonal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and community.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders respecting traditional culture and ways of doing business including cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- High level of computer literacy including a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and ability to use Biripis Aged Care information management applications and systems.
- Understanding of reporting requirements such as DEX reporting and ability to provide qualitative and/or quantitative reports as required.
- Ability to maintain professionalism tact and the utmost confidentiality in a complex close knit community.
- Ability to practice initiative judgement and insight.
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including the National Police Check and Working with Children clearances.
