Program Manager Digital Accessibility Governance Policy & Program Management
The Program Manager provides governance and program oversight for digital accessibility initiatives with responsibility for policy development program operations stakeholder coordination and implementation support. This role ensures accessibility efforts are institutionalized through repeatable governance structures documented standards and clear operating procedures. The Program Manager supports implementation planning cross-functional coordination reporting and maturity improvement efforts to strengthen organizational accessibility readiness and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
Accessibility Governance & Policy Development
Develop accessibility governance frameworks including roles/responsibilities decision-making processes escalation paths and compliance monitoring structures.
Draft and update accessibility policies standards guidelines checklists and supporting procedures.
Build accessibility playbooks and operational documentation to support consistent program execution.
Program Management & Coordination
Manage task execution schedules risks issue tracking and deliverables for accessibility program activities.
Facilitate governance meetings working sessions and cross-functional alignment discussions.
Track action items decisions dependencies and deliver progress updates to leadership.
Maturity Assessments & Program Improvement
Support accessibility maturity assessments and identify program-level gaps in process governance tooling and operational readiness.
Develop improvement plans and structured recommendations to strengthen accessibility program maturity.
Support accessibility integration into organizational practices (digital lifecycle content publishing procurement vendor oversight).
Documentation & Reporting
Produce clear documentation and program reporting artifacts that support compliance needs and executive decision-making.
Ensure documentation reflects accurate status roadmap alignment and ongoing operational improvements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Minimum of 810 years of program management experience preferably supporting compliance-driven programs and stakeholder-heavy environments.
Working knowledge of Section 508 ADA digital compliance context and WCAG standards.
Demonstrated ability to develop policy governance documentation and operating procedures.
Strong facilitation skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Excellent writing skills and ability to produce professional deliverables with minimal oversight.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks within restricted timeframes.
Bachelors degree in business public administration information technology or related field.
Ability to function in a fast-paced dynamic environment in a fully remote position.
Preferred skills include:
PMP PgMP Agile or comparable certification.
Experience supporting accessibility governance models compliance programs or multi-team operational frameworks.
Prior experience supporting Federal programs preferred.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
