Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a chemistry biology or medical laboratory science
2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory
CHT (ABHI) certification within 1 year of eligibility. If eligible at time of hire then within 1 year of hire date.
Must be able to identify and report abnormal test results as well as communicate and interact with reviewing Pathologists and submitting clinicians. Must be able to work independently multi-task and make subjective decisions. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in medical laboratory science
Current CHT (ABHI) certification

Job Requirements:
Perform advanced troubleshooting on equipment used to perform testing. Adhere to the laboratorys quality control policies document all quality control activities instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
Follow the laboratorys established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the lead tech general supervisor or director.
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications.
Maintain equipment used for personal protection and safety such as eyewashes safety showers biohazard containers hoods chemical cabinets and personal protective equipment.
Maintain temperature dependent equipment such as refrigerators freezers incubators water baths heat blocks
Perform other duties as needed.
