Job Description
This position is located at the Austin West Campus in Austin MN.
The incumbent is responsible for operating maintaining and repairing of boilers control systems plumbing fixtures and other systems included in the building envelope. Basic understanding of chillers pumps cooling towers pneumatic controls and water treatment. Manages building supply and equipment inventory and documents all service-related activities (including report writing). May exercise some responsibilities for purchasing materials work performed by outside vendors and approving bill of ladings/invoices. Work is done in accordance with established procedures and frequent and detailed instructions are given on new and complex work. Under general supervision performs semi-skilled jobs in a variety of trade areas. Work is usually assigned and inspected by the Physical Plant Supervisor.

$29.93 - $34.52 / $62494.00 - $ 72078.00
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a valid State of MN boiler license Second Class C Engineer or greater.
Knowledge and skills in the methods materials tools and equipment used in trade work sufficient to assist skilled trades staff in the completion of assigned projects.
Ability to perform semi-skilled trades work sufficient to complete minor trades plumbing electrical HVAC and/or electrical systems and equipment.
Ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments to machinery and equipment including the general maintenance and minor repairs of buildings.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions sufficient to interpret and carry out assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
Skill in the use of hand and power tools and other trades equipment.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to perform the job duties safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualification
Valid drivers license.
Ability to perform a variety of general maintenance tasks follow simple oral and written instructions and to perform assigned tasks with limited direct supervision.
Ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.
Must be in good physical condition sufficient to operate motorized grounds equipment maintenance and construction equipment and lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to keep records and perform clerical functions sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories.
Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish Karen Karenni Somali Pohnpeian French Nuer Anuak or other languages that reflect our student body workforce and communities.
Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
