The Senior Social Media Manager at BOAT International is responsible for developing leading and executing the social media strategy across all brand channels of BOAT International Media including BOAT International and its sister publication Dockwalk. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality editorial audience growth commercial campaigns and live event coverage across platforms.
- You will lead the brands social presence collaborating across content commercial editorial and events teams while steering data-led innovation and strategic growth.
- This is a hands-on role that requires creativity leadership and operational excellence ensuring BOAT International maintains its authority and visibility in the luxury superyacht sector.
- Own develop and implement BOAT Internationals social media strategy across Instagram TikTok LinkedIn X Facebook Whatsapp Threads and emerging platforms making strategic adjustments based on performance insights.
- Create compelling content tailored to each platform including static posts carousels Reels and Stories.
- Collaborate with editorial print and commercial content teams to adapt and optimise content for social media using analytics and performance data to inform strategic decisions and refine campaigns.
- Manage the content calendar and oversee the day-to-day representation of BOAT International across all social channels.
- Work with the commercial team to develop social media pitches for clients execute campaigns and provide comprehensive client reporting.
- Plan and execute live editorial and event sponsorship coverage of major events including the World Superyacht Awards Superyacht Design Festival and international boat shows ensuring smooth on-site operations.
- Use tagging analytic and reporting tools to track performance highlight successes and identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor social media trends share best practices and ensure the team stays updated on platform developments and opportunities.
- Oversee community management including responding to comments and DMs while maintaining the brand voice and protecting BOATs reputation.
- Mentor and manage BOATs social media manager plus freelancers as required.
- Commission content and coordinate workflows with editorial design video and events teams.
- Oversee social media output for BOAT Internationals podcast with day-to-day organisation managed by the Social Media Manager ensuring consistent promotion quality and audience growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with photographers videographers and external content creators to secure high-quality visual assets for social media.
- Ensure all social content meets BOAT Internationals premium editorial standards maintaining quality consistency and brand alignment across platforms.
Qualifications :
- Extensive experience managing social media platforms at a senior level.
- Excellent organisational skills and forensic attention to detail.
- Ability to craft compelling social copy tuned to each platform.
- Video editing skills for social media.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret social media data and translate insights into strategy.
- Commercial awareness and experience in client-facing work including attending and contributing to social media pitches.
- Experience in planning and executing live coverage for high-profile events.
- Strong willingness to learn about and engage with the superyacht and luxury industry with the ability to travel internationally for events and live coverage.
- Creative thinker proactive problem solver and capable of leading cross-functional teams.

Summary of employee benefits
- Annual leave - Full-time benefit is 33 days per year (25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays). The Company also offers up to an additional 3 days of paid time off during the Christmas office closure period. This applies to all staff employed during the closure period regardless of their start date or if notice has been given. These days do not form part of the annual leave entitlement.
