Job Purpose
The Social Work Coordinator (SWC) is a para-professional responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to child and family social workers. The SWC ensures frontline social workers can focus on their core responsibilities of safeguarding children and supporting families by managing clerical organizational and coordination tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality administrative support to social workers including scheduling correspondence documentation and case file management.
Coordinate meetings appointments and court dates for social workers.
Prepare reports summaries and records for social work cases while maintaining confidentiality.
Liaise with internal teams external agencies and service providers to facilitate smooth communication and case coordination.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases logs and records of client interactions.
Assist in preparing case materials assessments and documentation required for audits or reviews.
Support onboarding and training of junior staff or interns as needed.
Help organize and prioritize tasks for social workers to maximize their time in direct family engagement.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies child protection regulations and data protection requirements.
Requirements
Proven experience in an administrative or coordination role preferably in social services education or healthcare.
Strong organizational multitasking and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of discretion and understanding of confidentiality requirements.
Familiarity with social work processes and child protection practices is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and database management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
